under 2$ DIY BOOKshelves

Life has been busy lately! I couldn't even tell you what big things we've been doing lately. I just feel like we've barely stopped moving. Bed time has become my favorite part of the day. It's the time when Casey and I get to close the door and cuddle and talk about our day and all of the things I thought of asking him throughout it. Don't get me wrong, I love our crazy life and Marcel and our high school friends and everything we do. I wouldn't change a thing. But the busy-ness makes me appreciate the quiet moments alone with my husband.

I made these book shelves the other day and I love them alot. They're cheap, easy to install and provides the perfect spot for small trinkets and decor without cluttering our actual bookshelves. Here's what you'll need:

old books (3 for 75 cents from the salvation army)
L bracket kit with screws (2.87 for a pack of 4)
drill

Hold your L brackets up against the book like they will look on the wall and make a mark where the screw will go in. Drill screws into the book where you have made your mark and then unscrew them. This is because in order for your shelves to appear to be floating, you'll need to screw the bracket into the wall before you screw it into the book and it's hard to apply enough pressure to the drill from that angle to make a new hole. Once you've made your predrilled holes, you can screw your bracket to the wall securely. Then drill your screws into your predrilled holes.

Happy crafting!
