Something happened when I did Whole 30 the first time that turned me into a routine person. I've NEVER been a routine person. Or an organized person. Or a timely person. But all of a sudden, I was getting my eating habits under control and I felt myself getting other parts of my life under control as well. I started hanging my clothes up {mostly} when I took them off. I started leaving my house on time. I started doing my dishes AS I was cooking instead of doing the whole sink full afterwards..or maybe the next
Each morning, I wake up around 7. I take Gatsby on a run most days. I feed him and make myself breakfast. I spend some time reading my Bible. I start a load of laundry if the machine is full. I drink coffee. I run any quick errands I can get in before I shower and get ready for work. I've become a morning person. Somehow, through these little obedient actions I've taken to live a more healthy life, The Lord is showing me the benefits of being a good steward of my time.
Normally I would have woken up around 830 or 9 with just enough time to get ready and go. And what's crazy is that even though I'm waking up earlier, and essentially sleeping less, I'm finding myself more energized to get more things done. I've started having more time for exercising, crafting, blogging, etc. I've been forced to make time to wake up and cook more and plan my meals ahead of time due to Whole 30 and slowly my anarchic life is looking...neat. It's a weird feeling. I think I'm actually starting to look like a grown up. Gross.
What's your morning routine? If you're doing Whole 30, what are some unexpected results you're seeing outside of weight loss?
